Job Description
Korbel Champagne Cellars is seeking experienced Production Skilled Machine Operators to support our continued investment in modern manufacturing technology. This position is responsible for operating highly automated bottling and packaging equipment while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement. We are looking for individuals who are dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable with technology, and excited to learn new equipment and automation systems. As Korbel modernizes its operations, our Production Skilled Machine Operators will play a critical role in operating advanced labeling systems, automated packaging equipment, HMI interfaces, production data systems, and future SCADA technologies. The ideal candidate embraces change, learns quickly, communicates effectively, and takes ownership of their equipment. Essential Responsibilities
- Safely operate automated production and packaging equipment.
- Perform equipment start-up, shutdown, product changeovers, and operational adjustments.
- Monitor machine performance through HMI interfaces and production data systems.
- Recognize abnormal equipment conditions and respond appropriately.
- Work closely with Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment issues and reduce downtime.
- Perform basic operator maintenance, inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
- Accurately complete digital production records and operational documentation.
- Verify product quality throughout production runs.
- Follow all GMP, food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
- Cross-train on multiple production lines and new equipment as modernization projects are completed. Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating automated manufacturing or packaging equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable learning and using new technology, HMI screens, digital work instructions, and computerized production systems.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new equipment, procedures, and production methods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable with a strong attendance record and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team objectives.
