Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce high-quality components in accordance with technical specifications. This role plays a vital part in ensuring efficient production processes, adherence to safety standards, and the delivery of precision-engineered products. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency with CNC machinery, and a commitment to quality and safety. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to accurately set up machining equipment. Operate CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, grinders, and other manufacturing tools with precision. Program and troubleshoot CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) and CNC programming techniques. Perform tooling setup, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance. Conduct quality control inspections utilizing measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments. Maintain compliance with safety standards by using personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established safety protocols. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime. Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications for accurate fabrication. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques for assembly or minor modifications as needed. Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and waste reduction opportunities. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machines, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings. Proficiency in CNC programming, CAM programming, and understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and measurement techniques for quality control. Familiarity with welding processes such as MIG welding is preferred. Experience with fabrication tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setup. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and proper PPE use. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments. Warehouse experience or familiarity with inventory management is advantageous. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
