We are seeking a reliable and experienced Band Saw Operator / Belt Grinding Machine Operator Helper to join our manufacturing team. This position supports metal cutting, grinding, deburring, surface finishing, material handling, and general machine shop production. Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish and comfortable working an overnight schedule. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate horizontal and/or vertical band saws to cut steel, aluminum, and other metals. Assist with setup and operation of belt grinding machines. Load and unload raw materials, parts, and finished products. Perform grinding, deburring, smoothing, and surface preparation. Read job travelers, cut lists, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work instructions. Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, rulers, and tape measures. Monitor machines and make basic adjustments to blades, belts, feed rates, pressure, tracking, and cutting angles. Change saw blades and grinding belts as needed. Inspect completed parts to ensure dimensional and quality requirements are met. Sort, label, and package finished parts. Perform basic preventative maintenance, lubrication checks, and machine cleaning. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Assist with moving materials and stock throughout the shop. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of machine shop, band saw, grinding, or related manufacturing experience preferred. Experience operating band saws or metal-cutting equipment preferred. Familiarity with steel, aluminum, and other metals/alloys. Ability to read basic blueprints, mechanical drawings, and work instructions. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods. Must be dependable and able to consistently work the 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM
