Forging Machine Operator Location:
Santa Fe Springs, CA Pay Rate:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Built to Run. Paid to Operate. Join a growing manufacturing team as a Forging Machine Operator! This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring forging equipment used to shape metal components in a fast-paced production environment. Previous hot metal forging experience is preferred, but candidates with horizontal band saw experience and a strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply. Training is available for the right candidate. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial. Experience Requirements Hot metal forging experience preferred Will train candidates with horizontal band saw experience Manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred Ability to read work instructions and use measuring tools Job Duties Set up and operate forging machines, presses, or headers Install and align dies, tooling, punches, and guides Load raw materials and monitor production cycles Heat materials to proper forging temperatures Perform quality inspections and verify specifications Maintain safe and efficient production operations Preferred Qualifications Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred. Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Forging Machine Operator. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment. What You Will Do As a Forging Machine Operator you will operate, monitor, adjust, and maintain manufacturing equipment to produce quality products according to production schedules and established procedures. You will inspect finished products, replenish materials, identify equipment issues, perform routine machine checks, maintain production records, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations. The Forging Machine Operator plays an important role in manufacturing by operating equipment that supports efficient production and consistent product quality.
