THIS POSITION IS A DIRTY JOB!

The etching process, while at the core of our business, is not a pleasant environment. You will get dirty, but you will learn from the best in the industry! It's hard work, but it is very interesting - with the right mindset!

Duties:

• Monitors work to ensure that equipment operates properly and diagnoses any machine problems
• Identifies set-up required to properly etch parts
• Makes measurements and shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, and machine speeds
• Makes recommendations to modify shop methods or processes, relative to improved productivity and quality
• Adheres to company and customer specifications, work instructions, engineering prints, and job travelers
• Documents the materials and processes used
• Provides feedback to supervisor as to the performance of the etching equipment, etchant efficacy, and incoming quality of material
• Verifies the accuracy of the parts using calipers, micrometers and other metrology equipment
• Properly maintains etchant chemistry for precise and efficient etching
• Performs minor machine maintenance
• Meets production and quality standards by monitoring machine performance
• Records piece counts and run times
• Ensures work area is kept clean and the appropriate safety equipment is worn at all times
• Follows all ISO 9001 and AS 9100 policies and procedures
• May be required to perform duties in other areas such as maintenance, inspection, metal cutting, cleaning parts, etc.

Requirements:

• Direct experience as an Etching operator or 2 years' experience operating and maintaining CNC (or similar) equipment
• Ability to work and communicate with others in a constructive professional manner
• Knowledge in the use of various measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, plug gauges)
• Must be familiar with metals and metal properties
• Follow established fabrication procedures and standards
• High awareness of client satisfaction level and client needs
• Ability to read and understand prints and tolerances
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, height and gauges, calipers, gauge pins and indicators
• Strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills and ability to interact efficiently with others
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized work area

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Etching or CNC Machining experience

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse the production facility.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
