Summary:
The Gel Operator is responsible for safe operations and the manufacturing of gelatin mass.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow safety regulations, supervisor's instructions, and GMP regulations. Dress in appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean working environment along with cleaning instruments and equipment. Push team efforts with each operator in the department. Review all production record books and documents findings. Cross-reference all production activity with gelatin batch record. Manufacture gelatin mass 4 hours before encapsulation. Provide "hands-on" training to new gelatin employees. Adhere to gowning procedures. Operate equipment in a safe manner. Maintain gelatin area for general cleanliness, especially around melters. Report any foul play, accident, and complaint of personnel. Assure manufacturing equipment is in proper working orders; request maintenance work orders, when necessary. Avoid spills and waste of materials. Report consumed materials and colors stock quantity. Clean tanks and equipment when and if necessary. Adherence to HACCP and Food Defense.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with manufacturing equipment preferred.
Education/Experience:
Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D preferred.
