Entry-Level Machine Operator (Wave Soldering) // 1st Shift Available // $17 - 19/HR (Depending on Experience) Job Description This entry-level Machine Operator role focuses on operating and supporting wave soldering equipment used in the manufacturing of electronic assemblies. It is well-suited for mechanically inclined, detail-oriented individuals who are interested in building a long-term career in electronics manufacturing. You will receive training on the equipment and processes, and you will work closely with production teams to ensure that printed circuit boards are soldered to high quality standards while following established procedures and documentation. Responsibilities Operate wave soldering equipment in accordance with detailed work instructions and production schedules. Load and unload printed circuit boards (PCBs) into and out of the wave soldering process safely and efficiently. Monitor machine performance during operation and identify basic operating issues or irregularities. Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers as directed to support different production runs. Conduct visual inspections of soldered assemblies to verify solder quality and identify defects. Verify that all production documentation is complete, accurate, and properly maintained. Follow IPC standards, internal quality requirements, and company procedures at all times. Perform basic preventive maintenance and cleaning on wave soldering equipment to ensure reliable operation. Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or material shortages promptly to supervisors or appropriate personnel. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety guidelines. Support production goals by meeting output targets while consistently maintaining quality and safety standards. Assist with other manufacturing and assembly tasks as needed, including basic assembly work and use of hand tools. Essential Skills Recent machine operation experience within the electronics industry, preferably operating a wave soldering machine. Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Comfort working with production machinery and mechanical equipment. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Basic understanding of inspection practices for soldered assemblies and electronic components. Ability to use basic hand tools safely and correctly. Strong focus on quality, safety, and adherence to established processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in building a career in electronics manufacturing and learning advanced production processes. Mechanical inclination and willingness to learn machine setup, adjustments, and changeovers. Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and communicate issues clearly. Comfort working in a structured environment with defined production schedules and documentation requirements. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures, with a focus on maintaining a well-ordered production floor. Attire is typical for a manufacturing setting, with appropriate work clothing and any required protective equipment provided or specified according to safety and quality standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
