Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Perform repetitive jobs on machines. Set up machines according to the instructions. In some cases, operate machines that have already been set up by skilled workers, such as Mechanics. Tend/operate the machine during production. Make minor adjustments to the machine when necessary. Use simple gauges and other instruments to test the finished goods. Check the finished goods to make sure the machine is working properly. If a major repair or adjustment is needed, ask a Mechanic for help.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Start and stop machine Set up and test machine according to instructions Ensure proper speed of the machine to meet and exceed the routing target Manage format (tooling) changes Check and supply materials for operation of machine Operate machine according to instructions Troubleshoot machine if necessary Setup input and output redzone sensors according to the instructions Verify with line leader that the sensors have been correctly setup Control quality of output and make required adjustments to machine Reject output outside of specifications. Remove output from machine and move it to specified staging locations. Keep machinery and work area organized and clean Return excess material to warehouse staff Fill out production paperwork Assist mechanic with maintenance or repairs Perform minor maintenance work on machine Perform assembly line work when needed. Provide on-the-job training to other employees. Clean the equipment as per instructions and training provided Follow line clearance procedures after the completion of the work order Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic. High School diploma or equivalent a plus Basic computer skills a plus
WORK EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of filling, pressing, and packing process a plus.
