Job Description
Position Summary Perform advanced set up, operation, and monitoring of production in a work center and participate in the continuous improvement process to address safety, production, and quality improvements. Additional tasks consist of assisting with material flow (loading, unloading, lifting, and moving material), and provide guidance to all support personal as required (laborers, material handlers, packers, etc.). Job Duties 1. Set up and maintain manufacturing equipment 2. Operate equipment to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move product 3. Conduct in-process quality checks and resolve issues as required 4. Assist with equipment maintenance activities 5. Maintain and monitor machine to ensure it functions properly 6. Develop in-depth understanding of how assigned equipment functions 7. Operate forklift as required to support manufacturing 8. Interpret production work orders and record / report production data including scrap 9. Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner 10. Count, record, and report inventory as required including but not limited to sheet, coil and accessory stock, shop supplies, skids, cores, etc. 11. Spin down pre-slit coil stock and complete appropriate packaging per specs of each order 12. Load and unload will-call customers, LTL vans and flatbed trucks with forklift (includes palleted coils & sheets, load customer equipment and maintain / log all shipments) as required 13. Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization, including working overtime as required 14. Comply with all safety rules and regulations 15. Other duties as assigned Education A high school diploma or GED preferred; trade school or military experience a plus Experience & Skills Forklift experience preferred Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds Requires solid written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude including basic troubleshooting skills Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills required Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy are required Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task Team oriented with effective communication skills preferred Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision Detail oriented with the ability to inspect material for quality conformance using measuring devices and drawings
