Job Title:
Manufacturing Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Operator to perform safe and efficient machine operation. Experience in a manufacturing or production setting is highly valued. Candidates with previous machine operation experience are preferred. Responsibilities Perform safe and efficient machinery operations to convert raw materials into completed products. Install, set up, and configure mounting equipment properly for scheduled production runs. Carry out detailed quality control inspections on plates before and after production runs to ensure suitability and proper maintenance. Utilize a tape measure and basic production tools to verify precise machine setup, material alignment, and mechanical adjustments. Collaborate with assembly and production teams to maintain a clean workspace, troubleshoot equipment issues, and meet manufacturing schedules. Essential Skills 1+ years of experience working within a manufacturing or production environment. Proficiency in reading and accurately utilizing a tape measure for machine setup and quality checks. Experience with identifying, monitoring, and troubleshooting machinery and production line issues to minimize downtime. Knowledgeable in mechanical operations and comfortable performing basic equipment adjustments. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to maintain the cleanliness of mounting equipment and surrounding work areas to support safety and efficiency. Capability to work around active converting machinery, support production lines, and adapt to different equipment. Prior experience in press operation, printing, or flexible packaging is a strong asset. Commitment to following safety protocols and consistently using provided protective equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates within a production facility surrounded by machinery and equipment. Safety is a core priority, and all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)—such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection—is fully provided to maintain a safe and productive workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
