Ames Bottle and Can is hiring a Sorter. Ames Bottle and Can is a redemption center serving the Ames area with a focus on customer service, community, and cleanliness. Job duties Sorting containers is the primary responsibility of this position, including: Sort containers by beverage distributor Follow our tracking procedures of how many containers we have processed. Load and unload bags of cans and plastic into and out of trucks Sweep, mop, and clean the sorting area Candidate requirements Candidates for this position must be: Able to stand and perform light physical activity for up to two hours at a time Able to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide in your head Comfortable working with empty beverage containers and other waste products This is a 20-30 hour a week position. Most hours will be between 10am and 4pm Monday-Saturday.
