Job Description
Job Overview Hagerty Steel & Aluminum Company in East Peoria, Illinois, is one of the most comprehensive metals service centers in the Midwest providing an expansive inventory of ferrous, non-ferrous steel, aluminum and coiled metals and a full range of metals processing, all delivered in an expedient, efficient manner to the six state industrial megaplex. Our goal is to exceed our customers' expectations. Operate the CNC plasma cutting machines and other machinery used in the production process. Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions. Performs typical machine shop operations to support overall production. Must be able to refer to blue prints to check order accuracy. Select correct tips for size as indicated by material. Measure material to verify order requirements are met. Clean parts and stack neatly. Skills Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) highly recommended; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Read tape measure AS400 computer experience
