Job Title:

Batch Mixer Job Description As a Batch Mixer, you will play a crucial role in our chemical manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will include attending daily safety meetings, receiving batch sheets, and formulating chemicals. You will weigh out raw materials, handle liquids and powders from drums, totes, and bags, and pour materials into reactors. You will check gauges and controls, follow all standard operating procedures, and keep detailed records. You will work with batches up to 4,000 gallons and monitor machinery such as pumps, mixers, and milling machines. In the event of a problem, you will notify maintenance immediately. Additionally, you will perform housekeeping duties and communicate batch records with the next shift and supervisors. Responsibilities Attend daily safety meetings. Receive and follow batch sheets. Formulate chemicals and weigh raw materials. Handle liquids and powders from various containers. Pour and place materials into reactors. Check gauges and controls. Adhere to all standard operating procedures. Maintain detailed records. Monitor machinery such as pumps, mixers, and milling machines. Notify maintenance of any issues promptly. Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping and cleaning. Communicate batch records with the next shift and supervisors. Assist and ensure the understanding of job duties and safety for helpers. Be flexible with packaging, staging, and preparing orders. Essential Skills 3 years of manufacturing experience. 3 years of experience in blending, formulating, chemical operating, and batch mixing. Preference for experience in chemical or pharmaceutical industries over food. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to operate and monitor machinery effectively. Strong communication skills for shift transitions. Flexibility in assisting with various tasks as needed. Willingness to start with labor tasks and transition to full batch mixing responsibilities. Work Environment The Alsip facility is modern, clean, and recently remodeled, featuring a smaller workforce and fewer production lines, creating an organized and focused environment. The Chicago Heights facility is larger, with more production lines and a bigger workforce, offering a bustling and dynamic atmosphere. Both facilities are temperature-controlled and emphasize safety. The chemicals handled are non-harmful, and there are security checkpoints and multiple break rooms available for employees. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ford Heights, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
