00 / hour Job Summary S.I.C. Recycling is looking for a dependable, hands-on Laborer to join our 2nd shift production team in Riverton, IL. In this role, you'll help keep our scrap metal processing operation running smoothly — operating equipment, monitoring material flow, and working alongside a close-knit crew that takes pride in getting the job done safely and efficiently. What You'll Do Operate a forklift and other production equipment Monitor incoming and outgoing material Keep basic logs of load numbers Load and unload equipment and trucks Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe Operate and maintain assigned equipment Keep pace with the shredder line during production Account for time and materials used while performing assigned duties What We're Looking For Ability to safely operate machines and equipment Ability to repeatedly lift at least 25 pounds Ability to keep pace in a fast-moving production environment Reliable, consistent attendance Punctuality and timeliness in completing tasks Forklift experience preferred, but not required General mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn equipment operation A team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed Working Conditions Work is performed in an active scrap metal processing facility, both indoors and outdoors, and may involve exposure to seasonal heat, cold, and other outdoor elements Exposure to dust, metal debris, and odors typical of a scrap processing environment Noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels; hearing protection is required for most of the shift Required PPE includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other task-specific safety gear Work is performed around heavy equipment, including forklifts and a shredder line Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods throughout the shift Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds repeatedly, and heavier loads occasionally with assistance Ability to climb on and off equipment such as forklifts safely Ability to work at a fast pace to keep up with production and shredder line speed Ability to work overtime, including weekends or holidays, with advance notice as needed Work Schedule 2nd
