Security Locknut in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate manual machinery for light milling and drilling of mild steel, ensuring that every part meets our strict quality standards. Work in a clean, air-conditioned facility where accuracy, safety, and craftsmanship are valued. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment for optimal performance. Prepare machinery by cleaning, calibrating, and fine-tuning before production cycles. Adjust machine parameters such as speed and material feed to meet specifications. Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment. Collaborate with team members to improve productivity and throughput. Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures). Identify machine malfunctions and determine corrective actions. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow blueprints, work instructions, and quality control procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience (preferred). Experience operating manual machinery for milling, machining, or drilling. Proficiency with precision measuring instruments. Basic blueprint reading skills. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills. Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
