Job Description
This position will report directly to the Mill Superintendent and be responsible for operation of all types of woodworking machines, such as saws, drill presses, glue wheel, sanders, and planers with a focus on personal safety, the safety of others, and continuous improvement initiatives.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Possess desire and ambition to work safely and efficiently and report all work hazards immediately.
- Prepare and set up machines and tooling for woodworking.
- Lift wood pieces onto machines
- Operate woodworking machine, including saws, glue wheel, sanding machines, and planers.
- Ensure products meet standards and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Woodworking/carpentry experience is a plus
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Attention to detail
- Maintain good attendance
- Team orientation and willingness to work with others
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Ability to be cross-trained
