In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating high-quality hoods, countertops, sinks, and other custom metal components with precision and craftsmanship. Your expertise in sheet metal work, welding, and interpreting technical drawings will be essential to delivering exceptional products that meet our rigorous standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate construction of copper and stainless steel components. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to fabricate hoods, countertops, sinks, and related items. Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and other welding techniques adhering to AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and shop math calculations to ensure dimensional accuracy throughout fabrication processes. Operate cranes, pipe threading machines, plasma cutters, and other machinery safely while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Assemble fabricated components with hand tools and mechanical fasteners to produce finished products that meet quality specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety regulations and company policies at all times. Qualifications Proven experience in metal fabrication within a shop or construction site environment with a focus on copper and stainless steel materials. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and technical drawing analysis. Skilled in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with certification preferred. Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes such as plasma cutting, bending, forming, pipe threading, soldering, and machining. Ability to operate measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers accurately for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication is highly desirable. Experience working with power tools and hand tools safely in a fast-paced environment. Excellent shop math skills combined with basic math proficiency for measurements and calculations. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and metalworking machinery. Prior experience interpreting technical drawings or blueprints for complex fabrications involving assembly of custom components is preferred.
