General Responsibilities:

Operates saw to cut metal sheets, plates, bars, angle and pipe. General knowledge of how to write a program and pull up an existing program on the saw computer. Operator must possess the skills necessary to convert the angle shown on the blue print to the appropriate angle that is needed on the computer. Inspects work for conformance to specifications. Must be able to distinguish different types of material. Must be able to set a manual stop to achieve accurate cut lengths in a consistent manner? Must be able to demonstrate the ability to properly and safely change the saw blades on the machine. Must be able to distinguish which blade to use for each type of material. Must be knowledgeable about the cooling system for the saw. Keep the water tank full. Know the appropriate mix of water to cutting fluid. Must be aware of safety considerations for operating machine.
