Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our production team. The Saw Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining our band saw and shear to cut materials according to specified dimensions and quality standards. This role plays a critical part in the manufacturing process by ensuring accurate and timely cutting of raw materials such as metal, wood, or plastic.Key Responsibilities:
Operate various types of saws (e.g., band saw and shear) to cut materials to specification. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and measurements. Set up saw machines, including calibrating settings, and performing test cuts. Inspect raw materials for defects before cutting. Measure and verify dimensions of cut materials using measuring tools (e.g., tape measures, calipers, micrometers). Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on saw equipment. Ensure work area and equipment are kept clean and organized. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Document production data, such as material usage and job completion times. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.Qualifications:
Previous experience operating industrial saws or machinery preferred but not required. Ability to read blueprints and measuring instruments accurately. Basic math and mechanical skills. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials (often 50+ lbs). Willingness to work in a industrial environment. Knowledge of safety standards and procedures.Job Type:
