Assembly Technician (Aerospace)
Location:
Danville, KY Shift:
1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM We are seeking a motivated Assembly Technician to join our aerospace production team. In this role, you will assemble, inspect, test, and prepare aircraft wheel and brake components for shipment while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and customer requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Assembly Assemble aircraft wheel and brake components following engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions. Clean, inspect, and prepare components prior to final assembly. Perform mechanical and electromechanical assembly using hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment. Ensure completed products meet aerospace quality and customer specifications. Testing & Inspection Perform functional testing of completed assemblies using hydraulic testing equipment (training provided). Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering requirements. Identify and report defects or quality concerns during production. Documentation Review work orders and production instructions before beginning assigned tasks. Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately. Record production information using manual documentation and computer systems. Coordinate with production planning to support manufacturing schedules. Equipment Operation Operate hydraulic test equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other production equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain equipment and workstations in accordance with company procedures. Safety & Continuous Improvement Follow all environmental, health, safety, and quality procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality. Perform additional production duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience . Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Experience using hand tools and power tools. Good mechanical aptitude and basic math skills. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to lift heavy materials and stand or walk throughout the workday. Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Political Asylee). Preferred Technical school, vocational training, or apprenticeship in manufacturing or mechanical assembly. Aerospace or aircraft component assembly experience. Experience with hydraulic or functional testing equipment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Pay:
$19.00 - $20.50 per hour Application Question(s): Can you describe your experience with mechanical or electromechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment?
