Essential Functions 1. Operate packaging-line equipment smoothly, continuously, and efficiently, to Include; cartoners, wrapping machines, Speedy fillers, conveyors, labelers, and printers. 2. Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to production equipment, completing quick fixes during runs and thorough repairs for more serious issues. 3. Perform and document hourly weight checks. 4. Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment as specified in machine manuals and internal operating procedures. 5. Follow all safety requirements established by regulatory agencies, company policies, and equipment manufacturers. 6. Adjust equipment during production runs and continuously monitor performance. 7. Understand weekly production scheduling and sequences to minimize changeover downtime and maximize output. 8. Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, line interruptions, and other operating issues to minimize downtime, maintain productivity, and prevent product mixing or cross-contamination. 9. Be able to read and interpret machine manuals and schematics to support troubleshooting and repairs. 10. Immediately report any packaging-line shutdown lasting more than 10 minutes to the Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager. 11. Learn and understand and effectively operate the computer-based controls and interfaces associated with each assigned machine. 12. Accurately complete and submit production reports and documentation following each run. 13. Maintain the packaging room and assigned work areas in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition throughout the workday. 14. Monitor the quality of finished goods to identify and report quality, packaging, labeling, or product-integrity concerns. 15. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Ability to maintain accurate records. 3. Ability to learn packaging processes for various product sku's and the required machine settings. 4. Ability to respond quickly while maintaining the required production rate. Work Environment This position is primarily based in the warehouse. Noise levels are high; hearing protection is available but not required. Physical Demands This is a physically demanding position that occasionally requires lifting more than 50 pounds. Employees must be able to sit and stand for extended periods and have adequate hearing, color vision, and hand-eye coordination. Travel No travel is required for this position.
