Job Description

Job Summary Reporting to the cutting facility/production manager, the operator lays up and loads onto the machines to specifications ensuring accurate cuts and acceptable fabric quality. This position works in a team setting and will be working in a team of two to operate the Gerber machine. Primary responsibilities
  • Sets up and operates automated cutting machine to cut assorted materials, work, cotton, rayon, bleeder and breather cloth, and fiberglass, used in manufacturing Men's and Ladies Tailoring Apparel.
  • Reads cutting requests to define job specifications, like part identification number, type quantity of material required and cutting instructions.
  • Enters commands to activate vacuum that secures materials to table, identify cutter location coordinates, and start machine.
  • Monitors operation of cutting machine to detect malfunctions informs supervisor or programmer of problem.
  • Removes cut plies from table, marks part identification on plies, and bags labels cut material for subsequent production use.
  • Maintaining clean/neat work station
  • Maintaining tools in working condition (machine, scissors, tape measure, etc.) Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to work off specs and production tickets to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Use of a tape measure understanding yards and inches.
  • Basic keyboard knowledge Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to deliver uncompromising quality and detailed craftsmanship
  • Ability to work full-time Effort
  • Long periods of standing /walking
  • Able to lift at least 10 lbs.
  • Able to stand for 8 hours.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
