Position Overview:
We are seeking Manufacturing Operators to support increased 2026-2027 HIV and TB production volumes at our Scarborough, Maine manufacturing facility. These positions are urgently needed to help recover backorders and maintain product supply. The Manufacturing Operator will work as part of a manufacturing team responsible for producing high-quality medical devices and related products. This position involves detailed assembly, equipment operation, inspection, testing, packaging, documentation, and adherence to established quality and safety procedures. Depending on the assigned production area, work may be performed within a controlled cleanroom environment .
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble medical devices, components, and related products according to documented procedures. Perform detailed electronic, mechanical, and/or manual assembly operations. Operate various manufacturing equipment and machinery. Perform assembly tasks that may involve microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering, adhesive bonding, and other specialized tools. Perform visual inspections and precision measurements of components and finished assemblies. Conduct product testing using computerized test equipment. Identify and correct device or component issues using microscopes and applicable tools. Package finished products while ensuring components, labeling, and documentation are accurate and complete. Maintain accurate production records, travelers, shop-floor paperwork, and quality documentation to ensure complete product traceability. Clean tools and manufacturing equipment according to established procedures. Properly dispose of hazardous waste in designated hazardous-waste areas. Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment and safety devices. Notify supervisors or team leads when supplies or materials need replenishment. Escalate production problems that cannot be readily corrected. Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives. Support individual and manufacturing-cell performance goals and metrics. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment. Perform additional manufacturing duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of relevant manufacturing, production, assembly, or related experience. Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures in English. Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English. Good basic math skills. Strong manual dexterity with the ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts. Ability to perform detailed and repetitive assembly work while maintaining quality standards. Basic computer skills and the ability to use electronic data-collection systems and software. Ability to prioritize tasks based on production requirements and importance. Ability to make appropriate decisions and judgments with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Schedule Requirements:
Candidates must be available to train on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift. The current 2nd-shift schedule is: Monday-Friday | 2:00 PM-10:30 PM Schedules may change depending on production volumes and business needs. Candidates must be flexible regarding potential schedule or shift changes. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has previous experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, cleanroom, manufacturing, production, or detailed assembly environments and is comfortable performing precise, repetitive work while following strict written procedures and quality requirements.
USOPS Pay:
$25.00 - $28.06 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
