The Assembler is responsible for assembly of Geislinger couplings and dampers in a safe, efficient way while maintaining high quality through operator self-inspections. The assembly is a quality critical part of the manufacturing process and requires great attention to detail. Previous assembly experience in a high precision, low volume production environment is a must. Key Responsibilities Follow all safety rules Operate all equipment in a safe manner Follow all environmental rules Assemble serial production products (small series) in a safe and efficient manner according to established assembly procedures Assemble small batch products in a safe and efficient manner according to print and general assembly guidelines Accurately report times and quantities for production jobs in data collection system Keep your work area, equipment, and assigned areas clean and free from safety hazards Assist in improving assembly and related processes Read and understand metric blueprints and GDT callouts Perform weekly and monthly preventive maintenance tasks and report issues with equipment Assist with packaging of products and utility tasks as necessary Complete all required operator self-inspections of assemblies and document them on the appropriate forms Report and document any deviations of parts Use measuring equipment and measuring tools Perform final inspections of assemblies completed by other operators Participate in training sessions (on the job and classroom) Assist with or perform training of lower skilled operators Occasionally operate other equipment as assigned Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years' experience in a high precision assembly environment or repair shop Working knowledge of precision measuring tools preferred Experience with metric blue prints preferred Required Education High School diploma or equivalent Physical Demands Required to perform physical tasks and move about the facility. Must regularly push and pull production related equipment. Lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs. Required to use proper PPE (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection, gloves, etc. based on task) Combination of office and plant environment Exposed to any number of elements, but none present to the extent of being disagreeable
