Job Description
Job description SUMMARY Materials handler performs a variety of duties in support of the warehouse, and production functions. Material handler loads, unloads, stores, issues, delivers, and maintains inventories on production and service department with stock, parts, work-in progress, finished goods, tools, and supplies within the plant. This position reports to the shift Production Manager. Positions may be referred to as Utilities, Material Handler, Drain and Clean, Machine Loader and/or Floor support. 2nd & 3rd shift available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:- Ensure that there are correct materials to keep injection molding machines running.
- Removing materials and equipment from machines that are no longer needed and setting up materials and equipment required for next job (hoppers, loaders, blenders, grinders etc).
- Thoroughly clean grinders, dryers, and material loaders.
- Maintain the materials at machines that are in use and pre-stage upcoming jobs.
- Pull materials from inventory per specification and fill in necessary documentation.
- Perform cycle counts.
- Computer use for end of shift reports, email and inventory system for set up instructions.
- Mix materials, colorants, additives and concentrates per specification.
- Set auto loaders to attain proper regrind ratio.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
- Operate a forklift, overhead lift (hoist) and other material handling equipment and successfully pass standardized exams for operator certification. (10% on the forklift)
- Perform other duties as required or assigned in the support of the company's needs, goals, and objectives.
