Wyoming, MI Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Bindery Machine & Treatment Operator Level I is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting a variety equipment (cutting, folding, and/or stitching) to meet daily production and quality goals in a safe and efficient manner.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up, adjusts, and operates various bindery equipment such as buckle folder, saddle stitch, cutter, or sheet laminating. Feeds, stocks, moves, jogs, arranges, unloads, and rotates items on/off bindery and/or finishing equipment in accordance with operating instructions. Understands different paper weights, sizes, kinds, and colors to be able to identify paper conditions Cuts the paper for their jobs. Monitors quality and performs all required testing and makes any equipment adjustments necessary Performs housekeeping and preventative maintenance duties on all machines and work areas Reads and understands work orders, layout sheets, and other specifications prior to starting the assigned job. Completes all work timely and accurately. Consistently produce smooth runs by using basic mechanical aptitude. Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Cross trains in other areas of the print shop. Performs other duties as assigned by direct Supervisor.
Education, Training, and Experience :
High School education or equivalent is required. 1 year of solid work experience running industrial equipment preferred. Prior experience within the printing industry is ideal. Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities: Ability to prioritize and multi-task for maximum efficiency without sacrificing accuracy. Ability to skillfully use hand tools or machines needed to perform tasks. Ability to read and comprehend written forms and instructions. Competency to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Works independently and/or in a team environment, cooperating with co-workers.
