Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of industrial machinery to produce high-quality components and products. Your expertise in machine operation, technical troubleshooting, and precision measurement will ensure efficient production processes while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities Operate and monitor multiple types of machinery including milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, flex presses, press brake machines, and machining centers to produce precision parts. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of components. Set up machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files, CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming, and programming techniques to optimize production runs. Conduct dimensional measurements using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify product specifications in accordance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain continuous workflow. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools, adhering to safety standards in production environments. Handle materials and finished products efficiently using forklifts and other material handling equipment while following safety protocols. Assist with quality control checks by inspecting parts for defects or deviations from specifications and documenting results accurately. Support fabrication tasks including welding, assembly, tooling setup, and packaging as needed on the production line. Skills Extensive knowledge of programming, CAM programming, and machining processes. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Strong understanding of shop math, GD&T principles, and precision measurement techniques using micrometers and calipers. Familiarity with industrial equipment troubleshooting and factory maintenance procedures. Experience operating various shop tools including hand tools, welding equipment, press brakes, stamping presses, and packaging machinery. Ability to interpret technical specifications for materials handling and fabrication tasks. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments to ensure a secure workplace for all team members. Skilled in factory experience related to assembly line operations, warehouse procedures, and materials management. Competence with SolidWorks or similar CAD software for design interpretation is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills for efficient machine operation.
