Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled 2nd Shift Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining a variety of industrial machinery to ensure efficient production processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, technical proficiency with CNC and automation equipment, and a commitment to safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality manufacturing operations during the evening shift. Responsibilities Operate a range of manufacturing equipment including CNC machining centers, stamping presses, press brake machines, CNC lathes, milling machines, and other industrial tools. Set up machines according to technical specifications, blueprints, and production documents. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure precise fabrication. Perform routine inspections using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or operational issues promptly to minimize downtime. Follow safety standards rigorously while handling equipment such as forklifts and during materials handling processes. Maintain accurate production records and document machine performance or issues. Assist in tooling changes, machine calibration, and preventive maintenance tasks. Support quality control by inspecting finished products for adherence to specifications. Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks and material flow management. Requirements Proven experience operating industrial machinery including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brakes, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming. Strong understanding of Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks is a plus. Knowledge of shop math, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes. Ability to interpret GD&T specifications and perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools. Experience with factory safety standards and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely. Basic math skills necessary for quality control and production calculations. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment involving assembly lines or materials handling is preferred.
