™. The Production Fabric Cutter is responsible for preparing, cutting, and organizing fabric and raw materials to support the sewing floor, product development, and contract manufacturing partners. This role ensures production bundles, markers, and patterns are accurate, complete, and aligned to the production schedule while monitoring raw material inventory, reducing waste, and coordinating closely with Operations and Production leadership. The position supports efficient material flow by completing re‑cuts, maintaining controlled pattern sets, updating production schedules, and assisting with inventory counts, equipment maintenance, and general production support as business needs evolve. This role is a non-exempt, Full-Time Position based at the YETI Bozeman, MT location.
Responsibilities:
Provide quality materials to the sewing floor and contract manufacturers. Help coordinate the flow of project bundles to the sewing floor and contractor manufacturers. Must have the ability to be flexible and move to other tasks as production needs and priorities change. Material Prep Cut and distribute fabric pieces for PDC, Product Development, and contractor manufacturers, as necessary. Know appropriate methods to prepare various materials and pieces. Organize bundles according to production schedule and input from Production Supervisor. Communicate with Operations and Production team when inventory is getting low on an item - ensure that priorities are covered, more of the item is on order, and inventory is not completely depleted if possible. Reduce waste by using scrap when possible. Conduct time tracking on all prep tasks as necessary. Stack cutting Laser cutting Bundling sample materials Cleaning & training Update Production Schedule when a bundle is completed - fill in date when fabric prep is complete. Coordinate with Production Supervisor on the shipping of prepped raw materials to contract manufacturers, as necessary. Check cut lists against sew samples and production packages to determine project needs. Complete re-cut requests. Markers and Patterns Maintain controlled hard pattern sets. Read and verify markers for accuracy. Create digital markers for domestic contract manufacturers. Print and arrange shipment of physical markers to domestic contract manufacturers. Raw Material Inventory Appropriately label all incoming raw materials. Monitor raw goods inventory and communicate with Operations if inventory is low or negative. Assist in periodic inventory counts as needed. Sewing Assist Production Floor with sewing when all other duties are accomplished. A dditional
Responsibilities:
Keep work area clean and organized. Help clean surrounding areas. Clean and maintain machinery, fixtures, tools, and workspaces in Fabric Cutting area. Assist with foam and plastic cutting, web cutting, and hardware bundling, as necessary. Assist with receiving raw materials when primary receiving agent is absent, and upon request.
Environmental and Physical Requirements:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Typically located in an indoor area with the possibility of mild discomfort from factors such as dust, material particles, temperature extremes, loud noise, and bright lights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision while cutting or sewing, constant looking down while cutting or sewing, color vision for identifying fabric, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus when cutting or sewing. Use hands, fingers and arms while reaching for and handling all fabrics and materials. Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Communicate, talk, and listen with coworkers. Lifting or moving of objects up to 60 inches from floor level and weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
