Job Title:

Machine Operator Job Description The Machine Operator will set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing equipment on the production floor while ensuring product quality and accurate production reporting. This role involves performing routine machine maintenance, conducting thorough quality inspections, and recording production data in Excel to support efficient and safe operations during the overnight shift. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor machinery in accordance with production specifications and guidelines. Ensure machines run efficiently and safely throughout the shift, adjusting settings as needed. Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and promptly report any mechanical issues. Inspect products during and after production to verify they meet established quality standards. Identify, document, and report product defects and inconsistencies to the appropriate supervisor or team lead. Use measuring tools, such as tape measures and other hand tools, along with visual inspection techniques to confirm product specifications. Record production output, downtime, and quality metrics accurately in Microsoft Excel. Maintain clear and complete logs of machine performance, maintenance activities, and product quality results. Generate daily and weekly production and quality reports as required by the production team. Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and company policies at all times. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to support efficient production and safety standards. Participate in safety training sessions and actively contribute to a safe work environment for all team members. Collaborate with team members and support general production tasks as needed to meet production goals. Essential Skills Experience operating manufacturing or production machinery. Ability to set up, operate, and monitor machines according to production specifications. Skill in performing quality inspections and identifying defects during and after production. Ability to conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery. Proficiency in basic Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Ability to use hand tools and measuring tools, including tape measures, to verify product specifications. Capability to accurately record production output, downtime, and quality metrics. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team. Understanding of and adherence to safety protocols and company policies in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred. Experience with general production work and handling basic hand tools. Comfort with performing repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality. Strong organizational skills for maintaining logs and documentation. Willingness to work overnight hours from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a non-climate-controlled but clean production facility, with plenty of portable AC units available to keep employees comfortable. You will work primarily with manufacturing machinery, hand tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures, and use Microsoft Excel for recording data and generating reports. The position follows an overnight schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and you will work in an environment that emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
