Job Title:
Machine Operator
IMMEDIATE HIRE & START
Job Description The Machine Operator sets up, operates, and monitors cellular packaging equipment to meet production schedules and product specifications. This role focuses on maintaining consistent product quality through proper machine adjustments, performing routine inspections, and completing basic preventive maintenance. The Machine Operator also handles raw materials, tracks production data, and supports a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment while communicating effectively with supervisors and team members. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor cellular packaging equipment in accordance with production schedules and specifications. Adjust machine settings such as temperature, speed, and pressure to maintain consistent product quality. Perform routine quality inspections on finished Ecolite products, checking cell uniformity, seal integrity, and material consistency. Conduct basic preventive maintenance on equipment and identify issues for escalation to maintenance staff. Track and record production output, material usage, scrap levels, and downtime accurately. Load, manage, and handle raw film materials, ensuring proper material handling procedures are followed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with safety standards and company policies. Operate production machinery efficiently and safely, including performing machine adjustments and changeovers as needed. Sort and pack products according to established guidelines and quality requirements. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues using mechanical aptitude to minimize downtime. Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and support continuous improvement. Communicate proactively with supervisors about production status, quality concerns, and any operational issues. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience operating industrial or packaging machinery preferred. Experience with production, general production, and assembly work in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in operating production machinery, including performing machine adjustments and changeovers. Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. Ability to perform routine quality inspections and maintain strong attention to detail and quality awareness. Capability to sort and pack products accurately and efficiently. Strong troubleshooting skills to address minor operational and mechanical issues. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Dependable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented work approach. Effective communication skills to provide clear updates on production status and issues. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Familiarity with air cellular or flexible packaging equipment is a plus. Experience with machine adjustments, changeovers, and general mechanical processes in a manufacturing setting. Demonstrated attention to detail in monitoring product quality and production data. Ability to work overnight hours and occasional overtime as part of a production schedule. Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlstadt, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.81 - $20.81/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
