Position Summary:

The Saw Operator is responsible for locating, loading, and cutting metal material according to written work instructions, travelers, and ISO procedures. This role ensures material is accurately cut, properly documented, and safely prepared for the next stage of production while maintaining quality, safety, and housekeeping standards. Key Responsibilities Locate and verify material using tags and travelers Load material onto saw tables and perform abrasive cutting per instructions Operate saws, forklifts, and overhead cranes safely Correctly measure, weigh, inspect, and deburr finished material to ensure accuracy and quality Complete all required documentation, tags, and production paperwork Inspect blades and equipment; follow all safety procedures Segregate scrap by grade and maintain proper material identification Maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications No formal education required Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math Forklift certification and overhead crane training required Ability to read and write basic English Ability to lift 50-100 lbs repeatedly Work Environment Manufacturing/industrial setting Requires adherence to PPE, safety, and ISO manufacturing procedures
