The production lead is responsible for everything involved in production, sanitation, machinery, and staffing in the processing & packaging room. The production leads are lead operators and machine experts and assist the production supervisors in carryings out all processing and packaging tasks as assigned. The production leads help ensure safety and quality during production. Production leads report to the department supervisor and receive their daily tasks from them as well. At the start of the shift pass on critical communication to your team and set the game plan, throughout the shift ensure the production, safety and quality standards are met. The leads will make rounds of the line. Checking and ensuring all paperwork is filled out completely and correctly and verify all information and materials for production runs is available and correct. Correcting and communicating any quality issues with QA and with their supervisor The production lead should have a sounds knowledge of all aspects of the processing & packaging equipment, from the operation and sanitation of equipment to the mechanical aspects of the machine. Ensure that operators have received all necessary training in all aspects of their job. Also, verify that all SOP's and OPL's are signed off by operators and adhered to. Production leads are heavily involved in coordinating with maintenance on repairs on their lines and involved in line improvements and PM's Ensure proper sanitation of the production filling & packaging equipment according to the standards, minimizing equipment downtime for cleaning tasks while maintaining the highest food safety, people safety, and quality standards. Responsibilities Receive and check incoming paper work orders Locate products raw materials for Job Retrieve raw materials according to work Orders ensuring accuracy Set up Machines, Calibrate Weights and Position Product Monitor Machine Operation and down stream team Keep records of completed orders Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions Adhere to health and safety policies and quality standards Operator is a Team Leader of 3 to 4 persons Skills Proven experience as Machine Operator or Other industries experience is OK Experience handling forklifts, pallets jacks and other warehouse equipment Able to read and write in English (speaking Spanish a Plus) Great attention to detail Diligent and punctual Good physical strength and stamina High school diploma or equivalent is preferred Related keywords: machine operator, manufacturing
