Position Summary The Milling Operator is responsible for operating and assisting with milling equipment used to reduce ingredients to customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency. This position works closely with the Milling Supervisor/ Particle Reduction Specialist to ensure production goals are met while following all OSHA, SQF, and company safety requirements. Essential Responsibilities Operate milling and particle reduction equipment safely and efficiently. Follow production schedules and prioritize work to meet customer deadlines. Set up, operate, monitor, and clean milling equipment. Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and notify maintenance or leadership of larger equipment concerns. Maintain an organized, clean, and sanitary work environment. Assist in minimizing downtime, waste, and production delays. Complete equipment setup, changeovers, teardown, and sanitation. Follow all OSHA, GMP, SQF, and food safety regulations. Support internal, customer, and third-party food safety audits. Complete required production and quality documentation accurately. Cross-train in other production departments as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety and food safety. Comfortable working around food allergens (training provided). Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds . Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a 10-hour shift. Preferred Two or more years of manufacturing or machine operation experience. Food manufacturing experience preferred. Experience operating milling, grinding, sifting, conveying, or similar processing equipment. Forklift and pallet jack experience. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Experience learning manufacturing software and production systems.
