You will also ensure precise coating by monitoring parameters and handling materials with care. Responsibilities include troubleshooting defects, maintaining records, adhering to safety protocols, and performing routine equipment maintenance to optimize the coating process.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain PVD coating equipment to ensure proper functioning Monitor and adjust machine parameters to achieve desired coating specifications Prepare substrates or materials for coating by cleaning, pre-treating, or masking as necessary Ensure that substrates meet quality standards before the coating process Handle and load materials into coating chambers with precision to avoid contamination Verify material compatibility with coating processes and make adjustments as needed Work with quality to identify and troubleshoot coating defects, making adjustments to improve quality and ensure materials meet specifications Maintain accurate records of coating parameters, material specifications, and quality control data Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to coating processes Perform routine maintenance on PVD coating equipment to keep it in optimal condition Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating repairs when necessary
Qualifications Required:
- Must be a US citizen, no dual citizenship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- 1-3 years' work experience is required
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Positive attitude, adaptability and a willingness to learn
- Ability to trouble shoot Ideal Candidate will be:

- Mechanically inclined
- Technologically minded
- Manufacturing, production or chemical work experience is preferred
- Knowledge of metal finishing techniques and plating processes
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods on feet and working on shop floor
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time and exert 25-50 pounds frequently
- Must be able to access and navigate each department in the Techmetals facilities
- Must have pulmonary fitness and capacity to be able to wear a respirator occasionally
- Must possess visual acuity to read documentation, computer screens and observe parts and processes for visual issues
- Must have hearing capacity to monitor sounds for changes in environment and/or equipment, announcements over the paging system, safety warnings/alerts
- Use of hearing protection, safety glasses, dust mask or respirator may be necessary
- ANSI approved safety-toe footwear is required
- Other personal protective gear as required when working with chemicals
Pay:
$19.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
