Description:
Versatile and dependable Shop Assistant/Machine Operator will support Red Head manufacturing team in this fast-paced position. Employee resource responsible for backfilling production gaps and handling a wide variety of tasks wherever required.
Requirements:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into CNC machinery
  • Set up and operate manual lathes, drills, and Bridgeport mills for short-run jobs
  • Perform finishing tasks including belting, deburring, and grinding parts to specification
  • Step in to backfill tasks for team members to keep production lines running smoothly
  • Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings and use precision measuring tools
  • High adaptability and willingness to switch to a wide variety of tasks, frequently throughout typical day
  • Work in a manner to ensure production standards are met
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately, attention to detail
  • Proceed under minimal supervision, initiative-taker
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment across multiple shop stations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, GENERAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Strong physical stamina requires standing, bending and lifting parts using proper lifting techniques, lift assist
  • Impact, crush, cut and pinch-point knowledge
  • Chemical exposure, SDS awareness
  • Seasonal warm, cold
EDUCATION, PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent, vocational a plus
  • Experience operating manual shop machinery (Mills, lathes, drills), understanding of CNC machine operation and part loading
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Attention to time management, results-oriented
  • Related computer functions, knowledge of manufacturing process functions
  • Some on the job training, comprehension of machine operating procedures and adherence to safety protocols
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
  • Assist in meeting overall company continuous improvement goals of safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity
  • Participate in yearly physical inventory Salary Description $18.
00/Hr. to start/experience based
