Job Description
Job Title:
Machine Operator 1st shift, 4 day work week- 5:00 am to 3:00 pm $22/hr Job Description This temporary 1st shift Machine Operator role runs approximately 4-5 months, with strong potential to transition into a permanent position. You will operate laminator lines, support material setup, and perform quality inspections to ensure products meet exacting standards. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with some Fridays required. You will work in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment producing high-quality technical fabrics for a variety of industries, including awning, performance, tents, marine, and healthcare applications. Responsibilities Operate laminator machines safely and efficiently to process jobs in a timely manner with excellent accuracy. Assist with setting up materials on laminator lines, including positioning and preparing rolls and components for production. Use overhead hoists at each station to move materials as needed, following training and safety procedures. Inspect finished goods for quality, identifying defects and accurately reporting nonconforming material. Perform machine changeovers when new material needs to be processed, including cutting material to size and adjusting machine settings. Use hand tools, tape measures, and related equipment to complete changeovers and ensure proper setup and product dimensions. Support slitting and printing operations as needed, maintaining consistent quality and throughput. Input production and quality data into the ERP system using the computer at the workstation, ensuring accurate and timely recordkeeping. Work collaboratively within a team of 3-4 people on each line, communicating effectively and following instructions from leads and supervisors. Follow all safety guidelines and participate in a safety-focused culture, including proper use of equipment and adherence to established procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained work area, contributing to a tidy and efficient production environment. Complete forklift operations after receiving on-site certification, including safe movement and staging of materials. Participate in hoist training and apply safe lifting practices during daily operations. Support continuous improvement efforts by following standard work, providing feedback, and adapting to updated processes. Be reliable and punctual for scheduled shifts, including occasional required Fridays and, when applicable, Saturday work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Emigsville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
