In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining hot melt and coating machinery to produce high-quality adhesive and coating products. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, safety standards are upheld, and quality standards are consistently met. Position Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of specialized resin and adhesive coating machinery. This role is critical to producing high-quality products while maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized work environment. The successful candidate will follow standardized work procedures, meet production schedules, and actively participate in the 5S program to drive continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
1.
Safety & Compliance PPE Leadership:
Strictly adhere to all PPE requirements, including leather gloves (at the extrusion die), safety shoes, and safety vests. Ensure all helpers and team members are also wearing required PPE.
Safe Operations:
Model safe behaviors when operating machinery or using lifting equipment.
Incident Reporting:
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and immediately report any safety incidents, near-misses, or hazards to the Supervisor. 2.
Production Setup & Coordination Preparation:
Review production orders and parameter sheets. Ensure all forms and quality documents are ready before starting a run.
Material Readiness:
Confirm all raw materials—including rolls, release liners, and glue—are staged and ready. Coordinate with Material Handlers to ensure an uninterrupted supply.
Technical Setup:
Configure the machine and die according to the specific production order, process parameters, and PRF sheets. 3.
Quality Assurance & Control Inspections:
Perform "First-Off" inspections to ensure initial products meet specifications. Conduct ongoing in-process inspections (per SOP) to verify consistency.
Defect Management:
Flag defects with color labels and record them in the PSA Line Defect Log. Stop production immediately and notify the Supervisor and Quality team if defects cannot be resolved.
Documentation:
Accurately record all material information, quality checks, and production data on official record forms. 4.
Teamwork & Maintenance Team Leadership:
During downtime, direct and assist the helper team in cleaning, organizing, or performing auxiliary tasks.
Inventory Integrity:
Verify and sign off on all production orders. Ensure any material changes are authorized by the Production Manager. 5
S Program:
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation by following 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is required. Experience with coating machines, plastic injection, or extrusion is a significant asset. Proficiency with basic hand tools.
Skills:
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) for documentation and team coordination. Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and OSHA standards.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
