Job Description
Join Giant Eagle as a Pharmacy Packaging Technician in our Warehouse & Manufacturing department. You'll operate automated packing equipment, sort and label prescriptions, and prepare patient orders for shipment to our in-store pharmacies and customers. Responsibilities include following strict safety, quality, and HIPAA guidelines while tracking inventory and maintaining accurate records. You'll collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and warehouse teams, helping us deliver safe, timely medications. Responsibilities Operate and monitor automated pharmacy packaging and labeling equipment Accurately sort, label, and package medications for patient and store orders Follow all pharmacy, safety, quality, and HIPAA procedures and guidelines Maintain clean, organized work areas and comply with warehouse safety rules Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and restocking of supplies Verify orders against packing lists and resolve basic discrepancies Use pharmacy and warehouse systems to record work and track orders Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and warehouse staff to meet production goals Report equipment issues and participate in basic troubleshooting Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives in the packaging area Required Skills Automated packaging equipment operation Pharmacy order fulfillment Medication labeling and barcoding Inventory control and cycle counts Basic pharmaceutical calculations Understanding of HIPAA regulations Understanding of c GMP/quality standards Warehouse safety and OSHA compliance Data entry and pharmacy systems use Attention to detail and accuracy
