Job Description
Job Summary Robert E. Little, Inc., a premiere John Deere dealership, in business since 1946, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Set-Up Technician to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up all equipment sold. Your expertise in reconditioning used equipment, training customers on their equipment, maintaining inventory and storage areas, and delivering equipment, will be vital in maintaining efficient operations and high product standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with John Deere top quality lawn and garden equipment, as well as other nationally recognized reputable brands. Duties Set up equipment using tools and lifts; handle crates; read and understand instructions; complete setups on time in accordance with John Deere and other manufacturers' marketing service timelines. Set up PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) equipment at mass merchant partners. Unload freight from trucks which includes checking for damage, accuracy, and serial numbers. Operate delivery trucks, deliver equipment, and handle paperwork accurately. Keep work areas clean and organized as instructed by the Service Department Manager and/or Store Manager. Recondition used equipment by repairing, servicing, and cleaning. Open, close, and secure equipment and tools and buildings used. Monitor calendars and schedules of customers to ensure set-ups are completed for deliveries. Work on the ground, bend/stretch/kneel, use hands to complete set-ups. Work Saturdays when required, as well as extra hours during the busy season. Plenty of opportunities for overtime! Experience Must be able to read and write legibly. Must be detail-oriented, conscientious, and proud of work. Must be customer-friendly. Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions as well as written instructions. Must be able to look up parts and instructions on a computer. Basic hydraulic and electrical experience preferred.
