A 2nd Shift Burnishing Machine Operator working a 4x10 schedule (Monday through Thursday, 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM) operates machinery to polish metal parts, handling continuous physical labor while enjoying a three-day weekend. Job Schedule & Environment Shift hours: Monday through Thursday from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Work schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts with Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off.
Physical demands:
Standing for 10 hours and frequently lifting parts up to 50 lbs.
Key Responsibilities Mid-day transition:
Receive production notes from the 1st shift team at 2:00 PM.
Daily machine setup:
Configure burnishing rollers, press settings, and lubricants for the day's run.
Heavy material loading:
Manually lift and position raw metal stock weighing up to 50 lbs. into the machine.
Continuous production:
Monitor automated finishing cycles to ensure consistent surface smoothing.
Quality documentation:
Measure parts with micrometers and log dimensional data before shift ends at midnight.
End-of-week cleanup:
Perform deeper machine maintenance and area teardown on Thursday nights.
Job Requirements Physical capability:
Ability to safely lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. without assistance.
Attendance reliability:
Strict adherence to the 10-hour schedule to prevent production bottlenecks.
Manufacturing experience:
Prior experience in machine operation, metalworking, or heavy assembly. Able to train on 1 shift 6am-2pm
Pay:
