Job Description

Central Electric Cooperative is seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Assistant Storekeeper to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting warehouse operations and ensuring that materials, equipment, and inventory are handled efficiently and accurately. Position Summary The Assistant Storekeeper & Meter Repairman is a union position that works under the direct supervision of the Finance & Accounting Supervisor and provides daily support to the Storekeeper in all warehouse‑related functions. This role is essential to maintaining smooth operations across our material handling, inventory control, and equipment servicing processes. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Storekeeper with all warehouse duties.
  • Receive, inspect, and issue materials and supplies.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks related to material records and documentation.
  • Assist in taking, updating, and maintaining inventory and inventory records.
  • Support testing, repairing, calibration, and general servicing of meters and equipment used in the cooperative's systems.
  • Assist with transportation and delivery of equipment as needed.
  • Assist the General Utility Worker as needed. Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) are required.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical warehouse tasks, including lifting and material handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping.
  • Willingness to learn equipment testing and servicing procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow supervisory direction. Why Join Us?
