Job Description
Job Summary The Machine Operator I is responsible for the operation of a variety of CNC and manufacturing equipment in the Machining Department. The responsibilities are to monitor production to ensure maximum throughput while maintaining and ensuring quality parts are delivered to the customer. The Machine Operator I follows all part specifications by measuring and gauging parts in compliance with the prescribed in-process criteria, per the standardized work and Travelers. This requires completing all related documentation and compliance adherence. They will ensure all raw material is prepared and loaded, to maximize machine uptime. Communication to all department personnel, including escalation of machine and part issues, is vital. The role requires competency utilizing basic machining tools, including but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. The Machine Operator I ensures that equipment is cleaned and maintained properly, and the working areas are maintained and organized as required and per 5S standards. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and reporting any potentially hazardous conditions to their leaders. Responsibilities 1. Supports daily activities of machining department. 2. Operates and monitors CNC machines and any other manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum machine uptime and throughput. 3. Performs all in-process quality checks, including corresponding documentation, to ensure timely and quality part deliveries are made to customers. 4. Monitors and communicates any machine issues to appropriate team members and across shifts. 5. Ensures that work areas are maintained, cleaned and organized. 6. Participates in all Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement, WPO, and 5S activities and meetings. 7. Conducts training for technical applications of all equipment and tools. 8. Works with department personnel to establish or revise work instructions and procedures, as well as training methodology. 9. All employees are responsible for ensuring the compliance to company documents, programs and activities related to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems, as per your roles and responsibilities. 10. Other duties as assigned.
