JOB PURPOSE

To move slit coils from turnstile and begin the packaging process.

PREREQUISITES

High school diploma or equivalent

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

To safely and productively operate necessary equipment to aid in packaging by: Operating the coil up ender safely Operating the overhead crane safely Operating forklift safely Figuring out packaging and weight specifications from work orders and software Packaging cylinder fashion coils as well as pancake coils Using coil flipper to skid material Putting required coils in racks and securing them Assisting Receiver in operation of overhead crane when necessary Keeping area clean and free of debris Removal of scrap bales from slitting line Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.

EQUIPMENT USED

Up ender, coil tipper, overhead crane, forklift, steel banding tools, coil cart, computer and calculator.

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Industrial environment working with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Rotating/moving machinery, loud noises. Must be able to see, hear, walk, sit, stand, carry up to 50 lbs, kneel, crouch, push and pull and work safely in this environment. Job is 75% physical, 25% mental, and applicant must be able to use computer to gather information on packaging specifications and utilize critical thinking to ensure specifications for weight and order priority is completed properly.
