Machine Operator - Metal Recycling Advance Career Services East Providence, RI Job Details Temp-to-hire | Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Safety equipment provided Qualifications Lifting equipment Machine operation Forklift High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility experience Materials handling Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of industrial machinery and equipment to meet production targets. This role plays a critical part in maintaining productivity, quality standards, and a safe working environment in a fast-paced industrial setting. Forklift operation is a required part of this position.

Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor machinery to ensure optimal production performance Perform startup, shutdown, and changeover procedures Safely operate a forklift to move materials, load/unload equipment, and support production flow Inspect equipment regularly and report faults or abnormalities Maintain consistent production output while meeting quality standards Handle raw materials and support material movement throughout the facility Complete required production documentation and reports Follow all safety procedures, permits, and compliance standards Maintain a clean and organized work area Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Previous machine operator or manufacturing experience required Forklift experience required (certification preferred) Experience with industrial equipment such as conveyors, loaders, or production machinery is a plus Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic issues Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines Strong communication and teamwork skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Capable of lifting, bending, and performing manual labor tasks Comfortable working in an industrial or manufacturing environment Ability to work rotating shifts, including overtime as needed Safety and Compliance Follow all health, safety, and environmental standards Use proper PPE at all times Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions immediately Schedule Full-time May include 12-hour shifts, rotating schedules, and overtime
Pay:
$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
