Job Description
Brookwood Companies is an integrated textile company providing a wide range of technically oriented military, tactical, medical, industrial and performance fabrics all over the world. Brookwood Finishing is the Rhode Island manufacturing division of Brookwood Companies. Our facility, with over 300,000 square feet, operates on continuous shifts using state-of-the art finishing equipment for dyeing, finishing, coating and printing of woven synthetic fabrics. Join our team! We are looking to fill full-time machine operator positions in our Dye, Coating, and Finishing Departments on 2nd (3pm-11pm) and 3rd shifts (11p-7am). In addition to shift differentials of $.75/hr. on 2nd shift, and $1.00/hr. on 3rd shift, we offer a "skills ladder"... the more machines you learn, the more money you will earn! Job Summary Machine operators are responsible for running specialized machinery such as gas frames, steam frames, calendars and coaters while following processes to ensure fabrics meet customer specifications. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. Skills High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in Manufacturing Understanding of production procedures Basic math, ability to read and follow simple instructions Attention to detail and excellent eye for color Physical stamina and strength Lifting up to 50lbs Brookwood is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
