Job Description
HTI is seeking a 2nd shift CNC Set-up Tech for our client, JTEKT, in Blythewood, SC. This is a temp-to-hire position. The employee is responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, adjusting, and maintaining CNC turning equipment to ensure parts are produced to quality standards and production goals are met. The role is more skilled than a machine operator, requiring mechanical troubleshooting and machine setup experience Requirements of the CNC Setup Technician Associate's degree or Equivalent from two-year College or technical school AND/OR five to seven years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience Perks of the CNC Setup Technician Paid Time Off Health Insurance Dental Insurance Retirement Benefits or Accounts Climate Controlled Facility Team Environment Responsibilities of the CNC Setup Technician Determine causes of machine malfunction, and make adjustments or repairs in order for machine to process materials in accordance to specifications within a timely manner If unable to make repair, consult with Lead Setup and/or Maintenance and/or Section Leader in a timely manner Perform operational preventative maintenance as needed Troubleshooting and diagnostics Check machine cycle time to ensure production process is in accordance with process specifications on a daily basis Utilize dial indicators, chamfer gauges, calipers and other measuring devices to ensure quality standards are met. If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, Machine Setup will stop production and consult with Section Leader and/or Area Manager immediately Perform routine inspections of parts to assist operators in meeting production schedules Operate and maintain adjustments of various machines as necessary to meet production scheduled and quality standard Record production results, quality checks, scrap, downtime and shortstops on a daily basis Assist on changeovers Knowledge of different processes (Grinding, Turning, and Assembly) HTIBLY1 HTI and JTEKT are Equal Opportunity Employers
