Position Summary The position of Saw & Cold Cut Operator / Programmer includes but is not limited to the operation and setup of the horizontal bandsaw and cold cut saws, as well as a variety of hand and power tools and will be required to work according to established procedures, read and understand work orders and blueprints, and follow all safety protocols and workplace policies. Requirements Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, and tape measures Knowledge of the methods and techniques used in safe band saw operation Ability to work in a fast-paced production shop Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams Preferably possess a valid forklift license Preferably possess a valid driver's license Ability to use hands for grasping and fine manipulations Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently in a busy environment Strong work ethic and positive team attitude Able to effectively communicate verbally Able to work well under pressure Work Conditions Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs Travel to off-site locations may be required Safety equipment will be required, e.g., CSA approved steel-toed safety boots, weld helmet, etc. Overtime as required Hazards associated with the trade Work both indoors and outdoors
