Job Description

The Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring and adjusting cable extrusion equipment used to manufacture fiber-optic drop cable . The operator ensures the cable is produced according to construction sheets, setup sheets, processing procedures and established quality specifications. 1st
Shift:
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM 2nd
Shift:
4:00 PM - 12:30 AM What you are required to know how to do: Set up and operate cable extrusion machinery . Process cable raw materials through various manufacturing operations. Produce fiber-optic drop cable according to specifications. Monitor machine operation, temperatures, speeds and processing conditions. Monitor cable during production to ensure consistent quality. Perform required measurements and quality checks. Use testing equipment as required. Identify defective materials, faulty machine operation or production problems. Make appropriate machine/process adjustments. Read and follow construction sheets, setup sheets and processing procedures . Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, diagrams and schematics. Complete production and quality documentation. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area. Follow all safety, environmental and quality-control requirements. Communicate production or equipment issues to supervisors and maintenance. Work with the team to meet production deadlines and quality requirements. Learn and utilize machine programming techniques as required. High school diploma or
GED. 1-3
years of machine operating or cable-processing experience preferred. Experience processing cable raw materials is highly desirable. Mechanical aptitude. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Ability to read technical drawings and schematics. Strong attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot production problems. Ability to identify defective materials and faulty machine operation. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be willing to work either day or night shift . Must have a clean background and work independently. Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
