As an Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment (punch/laser machines) with little to no supervision. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with precision instruments.
Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor machinery and equipment in accordance with operating procedures Set up NC punch machine per customer specifications (dimensions, tolerances and spacing) Install the appropriate punches and adjust height appropriately Configure proper settings on control console Place tools in specified stations Locate dies, punches and clamps. Verify locations with calipers Run test pattern, using a blank, to verify accurate set up Observe operation and make adjustments when part is out of specification Perform a 100% inspection of the first part produced. Inspect parts and ensure they are being produced to blueprint (dimensions, hole locations and size and tolerances) Maintain production count and monitor SPC control charts Separate, debur and stack parts according to specific instructions Maintain machine and tools to good operating conditions Must be able to sharpened tools on tool sharpener when necessary to ensure better wear, longer tool life and accurate punching. Must be able to calibrate laser on Acies and Trumpf Laser Clean out dust collector on Acies safely and correctly Must be able to take tooling out of and replace in Acies Automatic tool changer Must be able to build tools and load tools for the Trumpf punch. May require training of new operators in NC Punch Operations Had the Authority and Responsability to report non-conforming product Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environmentQualifications:
Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude Proficiency in using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges Experience with programming and operating CNC machines Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques Experience with lathe operations is a plus Good communication skills A high school diploma or equivalent preferred along with; 1 year experience as a NC Punch Operator III If you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for precision manufacturing, we encourage you to apply.
